Big news was in the works for NBA player James Harden. The Houston Rockets guard has entered into a thirteen year, $200 million deal with Adidas. Harden, who normally wears Jordan’s, has put away his favorite sneaks in exchange for Adidas at the start of his contract which has been one of the hot topics in the NBA for months. In celebration, Adidas gifted Harden a whole truckload of sneakers on the first official day of his contract to solidify his deal with the famous shoe company. Harden told ESPN in a recent interview that, sure, the salary and perks were part of the deal but the fact that he has a lot of say with the Adidas marketing team as well as having the ability to enter into the design process was really the deal maker. Harden was quoted as saying, “I have a voice that can and will be heard. I have a pretty strong voice, whether it’s designing my shoe, designing my clothing, just everything, everything that the brand has to offer. I’ll definitely voice my opinion.” Other notable characters such as Kanye West entered into similar deals, and all maintain that their ability to work closely with the design team at Adidas .
