Photographer German Friday submitted these photographs of just some of the graffiti visible in Detroit.
While many oppose the form of art, referring to the act as defacement of property or vandalism, art is a freedom of expression and regardless, adds a wonderful element of creativity to its surroundings.
Ironically, a lot of the graffiti pictured was painted in abandoned or demolished areas, which sort of adds a spark of not just color, but sometimes even hope too.
